MidMod Contest from Amy Butler
To celebrate the one year anniversary of the midwest modern fabric line from Amy Bulter, and the release of the her EQ software CD (which is awesome…and not only because i’m in the inpiration section
) she’s having a studio contest! The only rule is that you make something out of the midwest modern fabric line. That’s it! the only criteria. I’m so entering this contest…i know i have some of that line in my fabric pile somewhere. click on the picture to link to the flyer.

I guess this feature is an etsy find…although i found it months ago
This is a fabric shop owned by Karen Gray @ Karen Gray Design. This is my first (and most of the time only) stop for fabric. Since i have an unhealthy obsession with fabric shopping, i’ve spent countless hours in her shop trying to pick out just the right fabrics for my projects. I can not say enough good things about her, she’s a delight to buy from ! Such great customer service and because i live in Canada, it can sometimes be a pain to shop for fabric in the U.S. Not here my friends! I’ve had quick friendly service every step of the way ! So today, I’d like to direct your attention to her etsy store : Fabricpalooza ! she carries designers such as Amy Butler, Joel Dewberry, Anna Maria Horner and Heather Ross just to name a few. Also, please check out her blog Here! and her website…. Here! There’s a lot to see so get a cup of tea, and relax. FYI if you happen to live in her area, she has a brick and mortar shop opening this week !!! I’m a little jealous. Enjoy !
So many babies, so little time
Seriously, I think just about every girl i know is either pregnant or has just had a little bundle. I just can’t seem to keep up! But i did make this little quilt for my friends little man. I hope she likes Pooh, not everyone does…but it’s classic Pooh. Even I like classic Pooh. I quilted puzzle pieces in the blanket, although it’s hard to tell. I’m hoping that Santa will bring me some fabric, or even a gift certificate for some fabric.

I can not believe how bad i am at updating this blog… really, I should be punished. I seem to have so many projects in my head, that i can’t seem to find the time to write about them, but i digress. So i whipped up this Tetris Quilt for my son, and It turned out amazingly (he sleeps with it every night). Since i seem to have purchased a bit more than i needed, I had enough to make two more (of smaller crib quilt size of course)
The original quilt i used for inspiration is on Rabbit Style News
love love love her idea!

Here is a pic of one of my first quilts in a while… a little bit of a big endeavor. I bought the quilt kit online, and sewed to my little hearts content for days…. (thanks to my husbands loving help with cooking and cleaning). I didn’t realize that the pattern i chose for the quilting was a bit out of my league… but i gave it my best shot. Turns out i rocked it! it may not be perfect, but it’s cute… I made it for my friends little boy. I hope he likes it. this is the task that made me want to start making them to donate… i mean, how many quilts can i possibly give to friends before they yell at me? who knows.
