Here are a bunch of pics from the Button up Runway show that i went to last weekend. Most of the pictures are of my friend Brittanie’s stuff, but i did manage to catch a few other good shots of some other designers as well.
The show was super fun, lots of local designers and fun clothes! I can’t wait for more shows. Brit and I have decided to get a table at the Craft fair being held on May 8th, here in Halifax, N.S. So if you’re around the area come check it out. It’s in support of “Feed Nova Scotia”. You can check out the facebook group for the sponsor ( Coco Beans crafts for Kids) HERE
anyway… here are the pictures of the Show… hope you like them I apologize in advance for the whole bunch of pictures.
There’s more….

I’m back from my little winter break from blogging. Now I have so many things to share I barely know where to start.
First up: My Friend Brittanie and her break into fashion. love love love my Brittanie. Her scarves are awesome! versatile and beautiful all in the same package. Show her some love and join her facebook group HERE. She’s currently working on the Button Up! Runway show. You can follow that link to that facebook page too. Someday soon we are going Brit and I are going to collaborate and take over the world of East Coast Fashion… muahhahaa. Check out some pics of her stuff… she’s a doll.
I can’t wait to go to that fashion show! Much deserved respect for the East Coast.

Before i start rambling about the really awesome “lots of pockets” pattern by Keykalou, I’d like to take a minute to ask if anyone else is super stressed about what to make/buy people for Christmas? I personally am making just about everything (i doubt my brother would want a handbag or pillow covers so i’ll buy him something nice). It seems like the big day is creeping up on me here, and I’m feeling a little stressed. That being said… this Keykalou “lots of pockets” bag pattern is keeping me going. I love it, such well written instructions and pattern pieces that are neat and tidy. Now i need more, more patterns, more styles… more time to make them. I made these two earlier in the week, I’m hoping to post them on Etsy sometime soon, but my camera is a &*#$@ when it comes to taking good pictures, so I’m going to wait a bit, but if anyone out in blogland wants to buy them in the mean time, feel free to email me and I’ll post them for you.the both have zippered pockets on the inside of them.

P.S. I posted some Stampin’ up stamp sets and supplies in my Etsy store…time to de-stash. Most of the sets are long retired, so this may be your only chance to snag them. click the Etsy banner on the right to be directed…

So here we were in Nova Scotia taking in the patio furniture, stocking up on batteries, water and canned goods in preparation for Hurricane Bill. We had a little wind and a little rain, nothing compared to the month of July here. We waited patiently for it to get worse…then the sun came out. Bye bye Bill, thanks for not kicking out butts, we needed the breeze and rain. Not much else to blog about today, I tried my best to do some sewing but gawd it’s so hot here…standing next to a hot iron and under a bright light felt more like torture than pleasure, there’s always next weekend i suppose…
Here are a few tutorials i can’t wait to sink my teeth into:

Say Hi to Bill…he was just passing through…

So i haven’t posted in a while, between weddings and work and playing with my new Babylock Sophia I’ve been swamped. Ahhh my new machine is a DREAM! I’m so in love with it. I’ll be trying to catch up on some Etsy finds posts today and tomorrow. All that aside, I’ve just noticed that Patty Young’s new line of fabric called “Mezzanine” is on her site! Soooo beautiful I can’t wait to get my hands on some of it. I’ve been tossing the millions of ideas for summer dresses around, and scored two new Butterick patterns yesterday, now if i can get all of these bag orders out of the way it’ll be on to the dress making. Here’s a preview of the new Patty young line:

Great news in our family, my brother’s girlfriend is going to have a baby! so very exciting. It’s their first child. I can’t wait to be an auntie ! Since my brother’s been spoiling my little guy as much as possible since he’s been born, it’s payback time! Time to break out all the Noisy, messy and annoying toys that he was so generously buying my son.
So, my sort-of-sister-in-law has kindly made me a list of things that she would like me to make for her and the baby. Of course it is my HIGHEST priority
I’m so excited to get started.
I’m just starting now to draft some original patterns and make tutorials…so stay tuned because they’re coming soon.
I made a fold up wallet for my mom’s birthday this week, and tried to write the tutorial for that, so i’ll post that soon. it turned out well, i’m going to post a picture of it asap. it’s not perfect, but it has all the compartments that she needed.
I have big plans coming in the next few months..I can’t wait to get them started.
Just Another Friday !?
Well, today is a delightfull change from the same ol’ weekend.. my mom is finally coming to visit us! Usually we just visit at home. I can’t think of anything we could possibly do. I’m sure there’s something fun to do, but she’ll probably just get as much grandson time as she can. Perhaps we can take her to the “Dilly Bar store” aka Dairy queen. That’s my son’s idea of a good time.
Well, it’ll be nice to have her here, we don’t visit nearly as much as we should.
In other news i have found my next sewing machine… it’s not too fancy, i can’t afford the best of the best, but this one is just amazing. I’m sure Santa will just drop one on my lap…wouldn’t it be nice if we all still believed just a little ??
Here’ it is… the Singer Futura 350… I really want to try embroidery.
