Bio

Ok, so let me lay it out for you…

This is the 4th reincarnation of my online presence. This is a place for me to vent and share and a place for people like you to learn more about me, my musical and artistic interests and to find out whats going as far as events in my world. I am assuming most people are here for the music part so lets get into some history there.

I have been a music fan since my childhood,  my older brother being a big influence there- which explains my love for all things metal, glam rock and punk. Growing up I didn’t take to any conventional instruments and was always a fan never a performer. If you know me at all you know how add and attention starved I can be, so all that changed when I bought a set of used Gemini tables and 3 crates of records from a friend just after Christmas in 1999 (hard to believe that was 10 years ago!!!). Those humble beginnings in my parents basement blossomed into a love for all things electronic and over the next ten (I know!!) years, led to 3 East Coast DJ Olympic wins, residencies at almost every club in Halifax at some point and hundreds of shows all over Canada’s East coast. I have worked with many different groups and production companies for shows and have been using the umbrella of “System Interference” to do shows for years now.

I started out big into European techno, obsessed with guys like Dave Clark, The Advent, Adam Beyer, Chris Liberator, Cave, Christian Varela, Marko Baily and the like. Huge room banging, percussive techno.- nothing organic except maybe a bongo line and a pulsing bassline to make you pump your arm to the sky until sunrise. This stuff still resonates a lot with me, and my dj sets, but just like everything my interests changed over time. I developed a lot of love for the more techy side of the electro that seemed to be dominating dancefloors everywhere, but damned if I would be a beatport top 10 electro DJ like so many others I see out, I strived to find those obscure tracks with samples and sounds that blew your mind and still kept those fists pumping. I am also a huge fan of a lot of breaks, and I like my breaks fun-kay! Of course with breaks there’s the whole darker world there and I have a huge collection of drum and bass that I love to rock out to. Not my first choice for partying but theres some amazing stuff out there. As far as my tastes lately, I have been hugely influenced by the B-more movement and have been all over a lot of that stuff and “blog house” as its called. I am constantly scanning a plethora of blogs to find those hidden bangers that blow the dancefloor up. I am going to transfer all my archived sets onto this site and keep upping more as we progress so you will have FREE access to everything I do from here. It’s all for you!

I gotta give a shout out to all my friends in this “scene” that have encouraged me,inspired me, helped me, guided me and put me in my place when I needed it!

MUCH LOVE:
