Bass Rebel Radio 02.18.10 – Wickedbad Birthday Bump w/ Mat Trouble, DJ Lyra and DVD

bassrebelradiobanner

The archive sounds really good this week (I wasn’t suspecting it else I would have had this up Friday).  What a great show!  Mat Trouble and DJ Lyra were in the studio to prepare for Wickedbad Birthday Bump which took place Friday night and THANK YOU to everyone who came by and had a really excellent time.  The Paragon was packed and the music was grrrrreat!  Special thanks to Steve the Viking and Soundsyster who made the trek from Freddy to be our birthday present :)

No tracklist this week as I wasn’t suspecting a show but hopefully we’ll be right back on track this week with Logan Hudak!

WARNING: Not for lightweights or the faint of heart

Starring:

NC-17 - Toronto - DnB - Viper/DSCI4/Circle/Mac II/Renegade/Sudden Def

Prepare yourselves for NC-17, a Toronto-based Drum & Bass duo set to make the dance floor shake @ Club 1668. Much like the Motion Picture Association of America's NC-17 rating, these two are set to offer the crowd a night of music themed with violence, sex, aberrational behaviour, drug abuse and more intensity than any child should be allowed to see or hear. Theirs will be a symbiotic blend of hardness and cinematic edge, and such artistic capacity not only speaks volumes about their carefully crafted music, but is a guaranteed catalyst to making the club-going population shake their asses on the dance floor. Intrigued? Come out to Club 1668 on Feb. 12 and see it for yourself.

Supporting Cast:

Byrd vs Method - Halifax - Big City Nights Productions/Halifield

Jamie aka Byrd is a seasoned veteran of 8 years. Never ad-hearing to the statusquo, Byrd keeps his own council on what is “quality music” and what is not. His sets are full of underground, hard to find tracks that require an intelligent ear and an educated listener to fully appreciate. And his signature long, tight mixes run flawlessly for what seems like eternity.

Jordan aka Method is an up and coming DJ from The Halifield Movement. With only two years behind the decks he plays with the confidence an experienced heavy hitter. His style and smooth mixes are heavily influenced by Byrd. With these two playing along side each other you can expect to be no stranger to the dancefloor. The crowd is sure to be hyped by the time NC-17 hits the stage.

DVD - Halifax - www.wickedbad.net/Bass Rebel Radio/Halifield

Although Dave not originally from Halifax, has become a household name in terms of the electronic music scene. Thanks in large part with his contributions to wickedbad.net and their weekly dubstep mix series "J'aime Le Dubstep" and you can catch Dave weekly on Bass Rebel Radio every thursday at 10:30pm on Halifax's 88.1FM CKDU.ca. Everytime Dave plays you won't be dissapointed, his high energy charisma and passion comes through in his music. Known for his Bass heavy track selection you can expect anything from breaks, dubstep or DnB.
