Bass Rebel Radio 11.26.09: Sean Stewart, Adam Allen and DVD!

bassrebelradiobanner

I was very happy to finally get these two guys on the radio show, Sean Stewart and Adam Allen.  Sean has been jetsetting all over the world, spending quite a bit of time in Taiwan for the summer and now resident in Toronto,  Canada.  Adam is a Halifax local and the timing worked out just perfect!  Lots of groovy, grimey dope electro and house music for your listening pleasure.  Also as a special treat a new track from Jay Hamilton and Lee Fraser!

----------------------------------
Born in the backwoods of Cape Breton, a small island off the coast of Nova Scotia, DVD (aka Dave Mackenzie) brings the same passion and energy to his music that he does to life. He specializes in extremes - dark and funky, black and white, good and evil. This intoxicating blend of house and breaks will take you on a rollercoaster ride leaving you a little dazed, confused, and physically and mentally exhausted.

DVD’s musical journey begins like so many do, in his youth. His first gig was playing cassette tapes for a school dance at the tender age of 13 where he rocked his first crowd and many, many more. In fact he soon branched out and began blowing up venues all over the lower coast of Cape Breton and the mainland of Nova Scotia. In the summer of 1998 he traded in his minidics and cassettes and bought his first pair of turntables, diving headlong into the seedy world of electronic music. He hasn’t looked back since.

A residency with Underdog Productions - the hottest production company in Halifax - and a member of the EvolveTribe, DVD has played alongside legends like Meat Katie, Dylan Rhymes, Lee Coombs, Ali B, Mark Farina, Stacy Kidd, Doc Martin and Rennie Pilgrim. An no one has forgotten the massive opening set laid down before DJ Dan and Donald Glaude in April 2008. Be it a crowd of thousands or just 1 DVD is sure to delight and amaze as he brings a little something for everyone.

Buck Banger
The Halifield Movement
----------------------------
Tim Barrett never met a breakbeat he didn't like. Beginning his dj journey in 2002 he was a bonified hip hopper through & through but still had an enormous love for electronic music, so he found himself trying to blend hip hop acapellas over techno records. In early 2005 he bought a few drum n bass vinyls @ the local record shop & instantly became an addict for jungle music.

After cutting his teeth on any dnb that came his way he started developing a style of his own when he discovered the sounds of Ragga Jungle. The earthy riddims & beats fused with dem reggae vocals he knew where his head would always be...deep in the heart of the Jungle.

Now, with the emergence of dubstep onto the world stage he feels as though his musical influences have come full circle into a particular style that can be just as tough as dem ragga sounds but with a hip hop swagger & a drum n bass crunch.

7 years & a hundred or so shows later, Buck Banger is @ the height of his abilities as well as who he is as a dj & as a hypeman. Ready, willing & able to rock crowds on the mic or the turntables, he's sure to impress as he will always give you more Bang fo ya Buck!

Rekkid Bitch Mike
Dubalicious Wednesdays
-----------------------------
Rekkid bitch mike has been around for years and knows his beats . he has gone from trance to house to breaks to trip hop, to hip hop .... but now he makes drum and bass his standing sound ,with some super tight scratching .. . all you need to know is, when he hits the decks there no standing still!
